Overall objective is the diagnosis of canine leishmaniasis, one of the most important vector-borne parasitic diseases in dogs. Researchers will develop an innovative, non-invasive diagnostic method that detects specific volatile compounds emitted from the breath and hair of dogs. The method will use a system of gas detection devices that perform analysis of various volatile chemicals, providing an easy diagnostic tool for canine leishmaniasis.
